IAS AC472 Most structural elements and components of metal building systems are fabricated at facilities remote from the erection site. These fabricated items – built-up structural steel members, cold-formed steel components, etc. – and their welding and bolting processes, must be inspected during fabrication and verified as compliant with applicable codes. IAS Accreditation Criteria for Inspection Programs for Manufacturers of Metal Building Systems (AC472) provides the framework and detailed inspection requirements to verify the fabricators' practices and documents comply with applicable building codes. Robertson facilities are IAS AC472 accredited. |

| CWB W47.1 The National Building Code of Canada requires buildings and their structural steel members to be designed in conformance with CSA-S16.1 “Limit States Design of Steel Structures.” This requires fabricators and erectors to be certified by the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB), to the requirements of CSA-W47.1 “Certification of Companies for Fusion Welding of Steel Structures” and CSA-W55.3 “Resistance Welding Qualification Code for Fabricators of Structural Members Used in Buildings.” Armour Steel is CWB-certified. Further, Robertson welding standards are in accordance with CSA Standard W59-03 for Welded Steel Construction. |
