Reliable Roof Systems For the Long Haul
Armour Steel offers a wide array of standing seam roof panel products that are attractive, durable and easy to install. All the roof panels (shown below) are made from Galvalume® and carry a 25 year finish warranty. Painted panels add a Silicone Polyester or Kynar 500® PVD coating (click for colour charts). For an economical roofing solution that satisfies building code and uplift requirements, is weathertight, and is flexible and easy to install, you'll be pleased with any of these products.
Nucor "CFR"™ Roof Panel
CFR is a raised seam metal roof system specially designed for low slope applications. A CFR roof is designed to “float” to accommodate up to 3" of thermal expansion and contraction. The panel sidelap has factory applied mastic and can be installed without the use of electric seaming machines. It accommodates various insulation systems, including fiberglass batt, rigid board and rigid board with liner decking.
Nucor "VR16 II"™ Panel
VR16 II is a structural standing seam vertical rib panel designed for architectural applications that feature hips and valleys (½ :12” minimum roof slope required). The 24 gauge panels are installed with concealed fastener clips that allow for thermal movement and mechanically seamed for weather-tightness. VR16 II has been extensively tested against ASTM water leakage and air infiltration specs and UL90 and FM ratings are available.
Nucor "Classic Roof"™ Panel
Classic Roof panels are a tried and true roof system for most purlin applications.
They can be applied to building projects with roof slopes of ½ :12” and greater, over fiberglass batt insulation up to 6 inches thick. These 36" wide panels (12" rib spacing) feature an extended “purlin bearing leg” that provides added stability during the construction process, as well as a weathertight fit once complete.
CFR™, VR16 II™, Classic Roof™ and ClearBay™ are trademarks of Nucor Building Systems.
Roof Framing Options
These standing seam roof panels can be secured to either traditional cold formed purlins or open web bar joists, the choice based on the economy of each, the roof system used, the product application or customer preference.
Longer clearspan building projects are a specialty for Armour Steel. We employ a custom-engineered long span roof framing system designed for integration into pre-eng metal buildings and adaptable to all types of roof and wall systems including:
• Nucor metal wall systems • Masonry, pre-cast, and tilt-up wall systems
• Bay lengths of over 60 feet • Reinforcement for concentrated point loads
• Nucor "CFR" roof system • Deck with built-up or membrane roof systems
The new ClearBay™ Roof Joist System brings even greater economy to open web bar joist applications. It offers fully-bolted connections to reduce on-site welding, and reduced bridging which saves material and weight.
