Relationships with our builders

We approach our buildership relationship a bit differently than our competitors as we seek to maintain a really close and personal relationship with our builders by being boots on the ground in their territories and assisting them to develop their business consistently. These relationships go beyond sales though, our goal is to have all levels of the company to have a good foundational relationship with our builders such as project management staff feeling comfortable with the builders so much so that they do not hesitate to pick up the phone and give them a call if needed.

Constant and never ending improvement

This is an easy one, we are consistently improving and advancing our building systems whether it's adopting new connection types, bracing systems, or weld standards we are always improving the building to make it easier to erect and easier to fabricate. This plays into the time to money model which building installers rely on to put food on their table, if the buildings take too much time due to their over complexity installers can't make money, and we find that certain installers if they know they are installing for example a Robertson building they are going to add extra money because of all the extra parts and pieces.

Creative engineering solutions

It is very typical in the PEMB industry for engineers & manufacturers to shy away from complexity when it comes to their building systems. CMB is not afraid of complexity and in fact we embrace it whether it is extreme loadings, multi storey structures, complex frame types, stringent deflection criteria, or creative envelope systems.

Estimating

While our estimating process can sometimes take a bit longer, we are providing a very comprehensive quotation package including detailed quote, and preliminary drawings that are essentially at the level that they could be stamped by an engineer and submitted for permit. This ends up speeding up our actual engineering process and allows customers to get their approval drawings much sooner than our competitors. Our estimating team is made up of experience MBS System Designers, and actual engineers that are essentially designing the buildings based off of the customers drawings & specs so once a project is on-boarded and passed to engineering for final engineering the process goes quite fast turning around approval/permit drawings in 3-4 weeks depending on complexity when our competitors can range from 6-10 weeks.
