What can be done to streamline the installation process for steel buildings? CMB customized components and partnerships helps.

Without skilled people, steel buildings simply wouldn't be possible.
We know that an erector's role is physically demanding, and it's essential that every installation is completed correctly to ensure the structural integrity of the building. That's why we've streamlined the building process, making it simpler, safer, and more efficient for erectors.
Simplified Installation: Leveraging Clear Labeling and QR Codes
CMB uses clear, easy-to-follow labeling throughout every building. Each component is individually labeled, making it simple to identify parts whenever needed. The labels specify the building material and its weight, helping crews handle and transport each component safely. The labels also make it easy to verify that all materials have arrived on site and that nothing is missing. If a label becomes damaged or detached, the part number remains permanently identified with an etched marking and a bleed-through marker.
Every part also includes a QR code that provides instant access to the installation manual. If a builder needs additional guidance, they can simply scan the code with their phone to see exactly where that part belongs in the building, ensuring a smooth assembly process and giving erectors quick access to the information they need to complete the job efficiently.

Accelerating Construction with Econo-Slab Foundations
To further simplify the building process, we’ve partnered with Econo-Slab to provide an efficient foundation system designed specifically for erectors. Each foundation system arrives complete and ready for installation, including Galvalume forms, threaded rebar, insulation, fasteners, anchor bolts, a detailed installation manual, and stamped engineered drawings.
Everything is supplied in one complete package, significantly reducing installation labour. Site preparation is also minimal compared to the extensive excavation required for conventional foundation systems. Unlike traditional frost wall and footing foundations, the Econo-Slab system eliminates the need for heavy excavation, as well as the time required to pour and cure concrete footings and frost walls. The result is a faster, more efficient installation process that reduces both labour demands and overall project timelines.

Optimized Fastening Systems: Custom Bolts for Faster Assembly
As for erecting the buildings, CMB uses custom-made, fully threaded A325 bolts. Unlike competitors who supply multiple bolt lengths, which require additional time for verification and increase the risk of using the wrong bolt, CMB has simplified the process. This reduces installation time and minimizes the potential for errors during the building process.
At CMB, our goal is to make the installation process easier for erectors while helping
ensure a safer work environment and a successful project outcome.

Customized parts may seem like a small detail, but they can make a significant difference. At CMB, we use oversized washers to improve roof performance, reduce the risk of leaks, and extend the lifespan of the roofing system.
Standard washers can concentrate stress around fasteners, increasing the potential for premature wear and leaks over time. Oversized washers provide greater gasket coverage and more consistent compression, helping maintain a secure seal as the metal roof expands and contracts with changing temperatures. By using wider washers, CMB helps enhance the long-term durability of the building while ensuring the quality workmanship of its erectors stands the test of time.
Supporting Steel Building Erectors: The Heart of Every Project
All across Canada, steel building erectors transform engineered plans into completed structures. Their expertise, precision, and dedication are essential to every project, whether they're constructing a manufacturing facility, event venue, a barndo, or warehouse. Through changing weather, demanding schedules, and complex builds, they consistently deliver the quality and craftsmanship that Canadian Metal Buildings is known for.

We appreciate the erectors for their dedication to make every project possible. Their attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to excellence play a critical role in delivering durable, high-quality steel buildings for businesses and communities across Canada. We provide a building system that allows them to proudly work on a building that will stand the test of time.
