WELLAND, Ontario, [Oct 19, 2026] – Canadian Metal Buildings (CMB) has officially broken ground on its future 100,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility in Welland, Ontario, marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth and its continued investment in Canadian manufacturing.

Mayor Frank Campion, City of Welland representatives and government representatives joined CMB leadership, employees, Authorized Builders, industry partners, friends and family to celebrate the occasion. The ceremony recognized the people and partnerships behind the project, and the opportunities it will create for CMB’s team, its builder network and the Welland community.

“Our new advanced manufacturing facility here in Welland is not simply a larger building or a more efficient place to produce steel. It is a platform for the next stage of our company—and for the people who will help shape that future. This facility will bring our people, technology, and processes together in a place designed for the future. We intend to use that opportunity to improve how we manufacture, strengthen our capacity, and serve our builders more reliably. For our employees, this facility means better tools, safer and more capable work environments, and opportunities to develop their skills and take on new responsibilities. For people joining us in the future, it means a chance to learn new skills, build confidence, support a family, and discover what you are capable of. For our builders, it means a stronger partner—one investing in the capability, consistency, and innovation needed to support their growth and success. For Welland, it means new jobs, skills, investment, and a lasting contribution to a community that understands skilled work, manufacturing, and the pride of building things. This is how a family lesson becomes a company value. This is how a personal dream becomes a shared opportunity. And this is how we give back. Justin Bruzzese, President, Canadian Metal Buildings

The new facility is being developed to expand CMB’s manufacturing capabilities, improve production efficiency and strengthen its ability to serve builders and customers across Canada. It represents an investment in advanced manufacturing, innovation and the people who design and manufacture CMB’s pre-engineered metal building systems.

“This facility is an investment in our people and our ability to deliver for our Authorized Builders. By bringing better technology, greater production capacity and stronger systems together, we’re creating a workplace where our team can do their best work and support our builders with the quality and reliability they need. That’s what building better buildings and better lives means to us.” Lucas Bruzzese, Chief Operating Officer, Canadian Metal Buildings

CMB acknowledges the support of the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), which has provided a $750,000 repayable contribution supporting the company’s larger $3.39-million investment in manufacturing operations. This support is helping CMB advance its modernization plans and invest in advanced manufacturing capabilities.
