IMPORTANT: BEFORE YOU BEGIN, CHECK THE DEVICE IS SQUARE USING A TRADITIONAL FRAMING SQUARE

INSTALLATION GUIDE

What’s in the Box
  • TrueDrill™ jig assembly: top alignment rail, profile-matching shoes, end fence/squaring leg.

  • Factory-installed carbide hole locators (color-coded GREEN and WHITE).

  • Replacement carbide threaded hole guides.

pURPOSE:

TrueDrill™ helps installers drill perfectly level, on-center screw lines across the width of an AWR panel—fast and repeatable. It:

  • Aligns to your pre-marked lap reference using the sight hole on the top rail.

  • Matches the sheet profile so holes land in the center of each low without re-marking.

  • Uses fixed carbide hole locators to keep the drill perpendicular and prevent bit creep or breakage (single sheets or bundles).

  • Doubles as a rigid straight-edge guide, allowing accurate line transfer into corrugation lows for cutting, shearing, or layout.

Setup & Alignment
  1. Pre-mark the lap reference at girt/purlin locations.

  2. Place TrueDrill™ so profile shoes fully nest in panel lows.

  3. Align the sight hole over the lap reference mark.

  4. Square the jig using the end fence/leg and check the rail is parallel to panel ribs.

  5. Clamp near the sight hole; add a second clamp at the opposite end if needed.

QUICK REFERENCE
  • Base & Eave Rows: drill GREEN + WHITE locators.

  • Intermediate Rows: drill GREEN locators only.

  • Bit size: 1/8" metal drill bit.

  • Clamping: at least one clamp near the sight hole.

  • Marking Mode: use the rail as a straight-edge to trace layout lines into corrugation lows.

Required tools (not included):
  • 1/8" metal drill bit

  • cordless drill

  • vise-grip clamps with pads

  • marker

  • PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection).

Jig Anatomy
  • Top Alignment Rail (green): carries the sight hole for lap reference alignment.

  • Profile-Matching Shoes (white): nest into the panel corrugation, keeping the jig level.

  • Carbide Hole Locators: precision bushings that guide a 1/8" bit straight (GREEN & WHITE sets).

  • End Fence/Squaring Leg: squares the jig to the panel edge (where applicable).

  • Clamp Points: located near the sight hole on the lapping edge.

Safety & Best Practices
  • Always wear eye, hand, and hearing protection.

  • Support and secure sheet bundles before drilling or marking.

  • Clamp the jig to the bundle before drilling.

  • Use sharp drill bits; replace if dull or discolored.

  • Do not drill directly through the jig.
