A four-building hangar development designed to increase aircraft capacity, improve storage efficiency, and support the continued growth of general aviation in Brantford.

Growing activity at Brantford Airport created a clear need for additional aircraft storage. The project was developed to provide pilots and aircraft owners with secure, purpose-built hangar space while supporting the airport's wider plans for growth.

More than simply adding capacity, the new development needed to improve accessibility, make efficient use of the available land, and accommodate a range of aircraft sizes. The finished complex also had to deliver the durability and low-maintenance performance expected from a modern aviation facility.

Canadian Metal Buildings supplied four custom steel building systems that together form a coordinated hangar development. The project included two 12-bay buildings, one 9-bay building, and a 7-bay expansion, creating flexible storage space for the growing aviation community.

cmb solution

To maximize the site's potential, CMB re-engineered the hangar layout into a T-shaped configuration that increased aircraft capacity without expanding the overall footprint. Full-width hangar door openings were carefully integrated into the structural design, allowing unrestricted aircraft access while maintaining the building's strength and functionality. Through detailed engineering and coordinated manufacturing, the finished system delivered a practical solution tailored specifically to the needs of airport operations.

results

The completed hangars significantly increase aircraft storage capacity at Brantford Airport and provide owners with secure, dependable protection throughout the year.

The four-building development also gives the airport greater flexibility as demand continues to grow. By combining clear-span design, organized manufacturing, and coordinated delivery, the project created a long-term aviation asset designed to serve the region for years to come.
