For Simply Cottage, the goal wasn't to create another furniture showroom. The vision was to build a space that captured the feeling of cottage living itself. Customers would move through thoughtfully designed lifestyle displays instead of traditional aisles, experiencing complete rooms that inspired ideas for their own homes and cottages.

To achieve that experience, the building needed to disappear into the background. Rather than becoming the focal point, it would create a clean architectural canvas where natural light, carefully curated displays, and handcrafted furniture could take centre stage.

Achieving Simply Cottage's vision meant balancing architectural design with the practical needs of a busy retail environment. During the design phase, CMB worked through the structural requirements to accommodate expansive storefront glazing and a bright, uninterrupted showroom while maintaining the clean aesthetic the brand is known for. White liner panels were incorporated throughout the interior to amplify natural light, creating a crisp backdrop that allows every furniture collection and seasonal display to become the focal point. The result is a showroom where the structure quietly supports the customer experience instead of competing with it.
